Writing prompt: Starting sentences
Here are two sentences to start your writing session. Write for a set period of time or number of pages. You don’t need to write quickly, but try not to stop. Let the ideas flow from your brain to your fingers without too much interference.
If you enjoy writing fiction, let each prompt carry you into a scene. Draw on description, action and dialogue to bring the scene to life. Create characters and have them doing something. Don’t be critical–let your imagination take the scene where it wishes.
If you enjoy non-fiction, use each prompt to focus your writing on some aspect of life. Draw on personal, cultural or universal aspects–or combine the three.
Prompt 1: Sometimes I’m good and….
Prompt 2: I had a dream but I forgot it when….
